About Me

Hey! Thanks for stopping by! Beyond my job behind the lens, I'm a wife and the mom to two sweet and wild little boys. So while I love engagements, weddings and portraits, I am a big softy for babies and families. I love capturing beauty and joy, playing with light and finding those perfect locations, and I get a total thrill out of every photo session.

My style is vibrant and classic, with a more photojournalistic feel. I want my photographs to take you back to a time and place in your life, and bring a smile to your face when doing so. My approach is casual yet detail-oriented - I like to consider myself a laid-back perfectionist.

I believe in giving plenty of instruction (I'll tell you what to do with your hands), yet stepping back and being sure to capture those beautiful "in-between" moments. And while I'm happy to guide you in the process, I want to capture images that reflect you.

Finding my way to photography has been a journey, and I finally feel "home." I have my bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Marquette University and prior to having children, I worked as a professional writer, as well as a police officer in Nashville, Tennessee.  I have lived on both coasts, as well as Hawaii and Texas. I grew up in the midwest and spent most of my adult life in Nashville. We are now settled in Chesapeake, VA area, but still love to travel (please, book me and make me travel!)

My husband Casey is my partner in chaos, and I would be thrilled if my boys grow up to be just like their father. Our two boys are Corbin and Aiden, and I am also a dog mom to a crazy Vizsla pup, Ruger (because two boys 15 months apart wasn’t enough). I guess I should mention my cat, Remi, who is pretty cool -- for a cat.

When I'm not taking pictures, chasing my kids or on some outdoor adventure, I love running, weight training and almost anything fitness-related that doesn’t involve a huge amount of coordination. I credit living a fit life for keeping me (moderately) sane and centered throughout all life’s changes and curveballs. It also helps me keep my food and wine obsession in check.

I'd love to document the beauty in your life. My photography isn't a job for me - it's my art and I'm passionate about creating pictures you'll cherish for years to come. Contact me and let's chat about what images you want to capture!
